Seminar Sophus Lie in Greifswald

June 14 - 15, 2019

math-inf.uni-greifswald.de/sophus-lie

Seminar Sophus Lie is a series of meetings of mathematicians interested in the theory of Lie groups, Lie algebras, and their applications. It was founded around 1989-90 when open contacts between mathematicians from East and West Germany became reality for the first time since 1961. The first meeting in 1991 was organized by mathematicians from Technische Hochschule Darmstadt, University of Erlangen, University of Greifswald, and University of Leipzig with financial support by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. The Seminar usually meets once a semester since that time. Over the years the seminar had participants from more and more countries, and also the meeting places went beyond Germany.  By now it is a European event, whose objective is to bring together leading experts, to include promising students and young researchers, and to create an open environment for a fruitful exchange of ideas.
